How we assess students:

In each year there are 2 courseworks each worth 33% of the grade.

There is a 1 hour external finance exam worth 33% of the grade at AS. This is based on a scenario that the students see 10 weeks before the exam.  At A2 there is a 1hr 30minutes exam about Managing People. This is based on 3 short unseen scenarios.

There are also internal exams in January and March where students sit past papers to see how they are progressing.

How homework is set:

Weekly. Students are expected to work on their coursework and meet deadlines set. They are also expected to complete past examination papers.

How parents/carers can support their child:  Parents can take an interest in their child’s project and ask about what businesses they are going to choose to investigate. They can also encourage students to watch business types of TV programmes and The News. Access to a computer in order to complete work is very helpful.
