Extra Curricular

We are well known for our excellence in sports. This is recognised by gaining the national Sportsmark Award. All students can take part in teams or clubs before school, after school and at lunchtime. Activities on offer include Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Cross Country, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Netball, Rounders, Rugby, Softball, Tennis and Volleyball. Many of our students have not only been selected for school teams but also represent the area, county and even country in their chosen sport.

In addition to sports an enormous choice of other activities is also on offer. There are regular productions; these have included 'Motion Commotion' - an outstanding gym and dance evening, 'St Joan' - an extremely difficult play acted with great professionalism, 'Les Miserables' - a very challenging musical and Summer Concerts where students show an enormous range of musical and dramatic talent. There are also clubs supporting computing, dance, history, writing, school newspaper, science, technology and many more.

Also on offer for students throughout their time at school are many trips and visits. Some of these are fairly local and take place during the school day and are part of the curriculum. Other trips go further afield. Year 8 students visit Longridge Camp near Marlow for an outdoor activities week and there are cultural visits to Germany, France and Belgium. Some students will be visiting California this year.

The Governors have a policy of asking for voluntary contributions from parents to enable these valuable educational experiences to take place.
