What does this Course lead to?
Sociology can lead to studying it at university. It also complements a wide range of other subjects such as Psychology, English, Business, Criminology, Law and Education. Sociology is useful for careers in social work, law, business, marketing, journalism, government and politics, teaching and nursing.

What will I study

Year 12 covers Education, Families and households, and research methods.
Year 13 covers Crime and deviance, the Media and Theory, and methods.

What are the benefits of studying this course and what will I gain from it?

Sociology gives you an understanding of social and cultural issues. It will give you many transferable skills, in particular focused analytical skills and skills suitable for use in business.

How will I be assessed

Assessment is by exam. At A level there are three, two hour exams.
