Teacher of Science, Part-time

Due to a growing number of students at our school opting to study triple Science at GCSE or a Science at A-Level, we are seeking to recruit an excellent part-time teacher to join our fabulous Science Department. The successful candidate will be confident in teaching Combined Science at KS3 and KS4 to all abilities. Being able to teach Biology or Physics at A-Level would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Learning Support Assistant, specialising in Emotional Literacy

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and hard-working, with energy, drive and passion.  You will work under the guidance of teaching staff and the SENCo to provide support to address the needs of an individual, or small groups of students, who may require specific help to overcome barriers to learning.

This role will enable you to respond to the behavioural, emotional and social difficulties of students in school and you will have a particular focus on supporting students who have difficulties on the Autistic spectrum.   The Learning Support Department plays an important role in the work of the school and you would join a friendly and supportive staff.

We are currently seeking a keen and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our school. Cover Supervisors play a very important role in the school by leading classes and facilitating learning in the event of a teacher being absent from school. The role is very varied and involves delivering cover lessons that have been planned by subject specialists, using the resources that a teacher has provided. The role may suit a recent graduate keen to broaden their skillset and possibly consider a career in teaching. Alternatively, the role may suit someone who has prior experience of working as a Learning Support Assistant, and is keen for a new challenge! Either way, the successful applicant will be adept at communicating with both students and staff, will have a positive ‘can-do’ mindset, and will be flexible and able to think on their feet. They will not be phased by working with teenagers! We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Pastoral Support Assistant. The successful applicant will be part of our Raising Standards team and will work closely with Senior Teachers and Heads of Year in supporting students and removing barriers to learning.

The role is student-facing, so an ability to form positive, motivating relationships with young people is essential. The role also involves regularly interacting with parents by both telephone and in person, and liaising with teachers about matters relating to students’ wellbeing and behaviour. The successful candidate will possess tact and diplomacy, but also be tenacious and resilient.

Welfare Officer

We are currently seeking to appoint a Welfare Officer.  The successful candidate will be part of the Raising Standards Team, and will be responsible for dealing with the well-being of students and liaising with parents and teachers regarding issues concerning students’ health.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for maintaining care plans for those students who take medication and for managing the storage of medicines. They will endeavour to try and remove barriers to learning, be these related to health or pastoral problems, so students are in lessons and learning effectively as much as possible.

35 hours per week, core hours 8.30am – 4.00pm – Monday to Friday (including a half hour unpaid lunch break) term time only.  Although most work will be during these hours, some flexibility would be required for after school events or evening meetings.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, flexible Parental Engagement Champion to join our Raising Standards team and work with parents and students to help remove barriers to learning and encourage positive engagement with school.

The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, able to build rapport, work well and build trust with others. You will be self-motivated and passionate about doing whatever is required to support parents with ensuring their child attends school regularly, displays positive behaviours for learning and invests in home learning. The Parental Engagement Champion will play a role in organising parents evenings, celebration evenings and will support the Welfare Officer and Attendance Officer when necessary, with communicating with parents. The successful candidate will be approachable, flexible, able to deal with sensitive and confidential situations and will have the empathy required to connect with a wide range of people.
