A small group of Year 8 and 9 students attended the annual Teentech event in Basingstoke on Thursday, our place kindly sponsored by Fujitsu. It was led by Maggie Philbin (Tomorrow’s World fame!). Our students enjoyed building bridges out of Lego, and presenting their mental health app ‘pAcifI’ which could help calm a person experiencing panic through AI. They programmed a ‘sphero chariot’ to try and pop balloons, found out about cyber crimes and engaged with tech companies explaining what they do – including being introduced to a VHS video recorder and a Bluetooth car device. An inspiring day!
